Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

2 tablespoons hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce

2 teaspoons sesame oil

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

1 red bell pepper, finely chopped

1 cup water chestnuts, diced

2 green onions, finely chopped

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder

1 head of Butter Lettuce or Iceberg Lettuce (for wraps)

Optional toppings: Sriracha, chopped cilantro, crushed peanuts

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, diced red bell pepper, diced water chestnuts, chopped green onions, rice vinegar, and Chinese five-spice powder. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes, allowing it to reach the ideal cooking temperature.

Cook the Chicken Mixture: Transfer the chicken mixture to the air fryer basket. Spread it out evenly. Cook for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. The chicken should be fully cooked, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Prepare the Lettuce Wraps: While the chicken is cooking, carefully separate the lettuce leaves and wash them thoroughly. Pat them dry with a paper towel.

Assemble the Wraps: Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the air fryer and let it cool slightly. Place a generous spoonful of the chicken mixture into the center of each lettuce leaf.

Garnish and Serve: Top the wraps with optional garnishes such as Sriracha for heat, chopped cilantro for freshness, or crushed peanuts for added crunch. Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
