Ingredients

4 medium-sized apples (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons coconut sugar (or regular sugar)

A pinch of sea salt

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prep the Apples: Wash the apples thoroughly. Using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife, slice the apples thinly, aiming for about 1/8 inch in thickness. Remove any seeds if visible.

Lemon Juice: In a large bowl, toss the apple slices with the lemon juice to prevent browning and enhance flavor.

Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, combine the ground cinnamon, coconut sugar, and sea salt. Mix until well combined.

Coat the Apple Slices: Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the apple slices, tossing gently to ensure all slices are coated.

Arrange on Baking Sheets: Lay out the apple slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets, ensuring they do not overlap for even baking.

Bake: Place the trays in the preheated oven. Bake for about 1.5 to 2 hours, flipping the apple slices halfway through. Keep an eye on them toward the end, as they can go from perfectly crisp to burnt quite quickly.

Cool and Store: Once the apple chips are crispy and golden, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool completely on the baking sheets before transferring them to an airtight container for storage.
