Baked Chicken Parmesan Stuffed Shells

12 jumbo pasta shells

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (plus extra for topping)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg, beaten

2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta Shells:

    In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Carefully add the jumbo pasta shells and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.

      Prepare the Filling:

        In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, beaten egg, minced garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until fully combined.

          Stuff the Shells:

            Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Take a baking dish and spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Stuff each cooked pasta shell with the chicken and cheese filling, then place the stuffed shells in the prepared baking dish.

              Add Sauce and Cheese:

                Once all shells are stuffed, pour the remaining marinara sauce over the top of the shells. Sprinkle additional shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on top of the sauce.

                  Bake:

                    Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

                      Serve:
