Ingredients

3 medium-sized apples (such as Fuji or Honeycrisp)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon granulated sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Pinch of sea salt

Optional: Cooking spray or parchment paper for lining the baking sheet

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly spray it with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Prepare the Apples: Wash and dry the apples. Using a mandolin slicer or a sharp knife, slice the apples very thinly (about 1/8 inch thick). Remove any seeds from the slices.

Toss with Lemon Juice: In a large bowl, combine the apple slices with the lemon juice. This will help to prevent browning and enhance the overall flavor of the chips.

Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of sea salt until well combined.

Coat the Apple Slices: Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the apple slices. Toss gently until all slices are evenly coated.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Lay the apple slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Ensure they are not overlapping to allow even baking.

Bake the Chips: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, flipping the apple slices halfway through. The chips are done when they are crisp and slightly curled around the edges.

Cool and Store: Once baked, remove the chips from the oven and let them cool completely on the baking sheet. The chips will continue to crisp up as they cool. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
