Ingredients

1 pound ripe strawberries, hulled and sliced

8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced

1 bunch fresh basil leaves

1/4 cup balsamic glaze

2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Strawberries: Start by thoroughly washing the strawberries. After hulling them, cut them into thin slices and set aside in a bowl.

Arrange the Layers: On a large serving platter, alternate layers of sliced strawberries and mozzarella cheese. Start with a slice of mozzarella, followed by a slice of strawberry, and continue until you've used all the ingredients, making sure to create a beautiful pattern.

Add Fresh Basil: Tuck whole fresh basil leaves in between the layers of strawberries and mozzarella cheese for added flavor and color.

Drizzle with Balsamic Glaze: Carefully drizzle the balsamic glaze evenly over the assembled Caprese. Adjust the amount based on your taste preference for sweetness and acidity.

Season: Drizzle the extra-virgin olive oil over the top, then sprinkle with salt and freshly ground black pepper to enhance the flavors.

Serve Immediately: This dish is best enjoyed fresh, so serve it right away as an appetizer, salad, or light meal.
