Ingredients

1 medium ripe banana, mashed

4 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 tablespoon cocoa powder

1/8 teaspoon baking powder

1/8 teaspoon salt

3 tablespoons milk (or almond milk)

1 tablespoon vegetable oil (or melted coconut oil)

2 tablespoons semi-sweet chocolate chips

A pinch of cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

In a microwave-safe mug, add the mashed banana. Use a fork to thoroughly mash it until smooth.

Stir in the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until well combined.

Add the milk and vegetable oil to the mixture. Stir until everything is mixed together, ensuring no lumps remain.

Fold in the chocolate chips gently, spreading them evenly throughout the batter.

Microwave the mug on high for 1 minute to 1 minute 30 seconds. The cake is done when it’s puffed up and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the mug cake to cool for a minute or two. You can optionally top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for extra indulgence!
