Ingredients

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup mascarpone cheese

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)

1 cup store-bought sponge cake or ladyfinger cookies, crumbled

Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Mascarpone Cream: In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, whip the mixture on medium speed until soft peaks form, approximately 3-5 minutes.

Prepare the Berries: Rinse your mixed berries gently under cold water. If using strawberries, hull and slice them into quarters. Ensure the blueberries and raspberries are clean and set all berries aside in a bowl.

Assemble the Trifle Cups: In individual glass cups or a trifle dish, start layering the ingredients:

        - Begin with a layer of crumbled sponge cake or ladyfingers at the bottom.

          - Add a layer of the mascarpone cream mixture on top.

            - Follow with a generous layer of the mixed berries.

              - Repeat the layering process until the cups are filled, typically two or three layers, finishing with a layer of mascarpone cream on top.

Garnish: Top the final layer of mascarpone with a few whole berries and a sprig of fresh mint for a pop of color.

Chill the Trifles: Cover the assembled trifle cups with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the trifle to set.

Serve: Remove the trifles from the refrigerator, uncover, and serve chilled as a delightful dessert!
