Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks), browned

1 ½ cups granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 teaspoons cream of tartar

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

¼ cup granulated sugar (for rolling)

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for rolling)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.

Brown the Butter: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until the butter begins to foam, then turns a golden brown color and has a nutty aroma, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned butter and granulated sugar, whisking until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until fully incorporated.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, sift together the flour, cornstarch, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.

Incorporate Dry Mixture: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Prepare Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, combine the ¼ cup granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.

Layer in the Pan: Spread half of the snickerdoodle batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter. Top with the remaining batter, smoothing it out, and finish with the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture.

Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean (a few moist crumbs are okay).

Cool and Slice: Allow the bars to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before lifting them out using the parchment overhang. Let them cool completely on a wire rack before slicing into bars.

Serve and Enjoy: Enjoy your delicious Brown Butter Snickerdoodle Bars warm, or store them in an airtight container for up to a week!
