4 cups Rice Krispies cereal

1 bag (10 oz) marshmallows (mini or regular)

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 cup diced apples (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional, such as pecans or walnuts)

A pinch of salt

Additional caramel sauce for drizzling (optional)

Instructions
 

Prepare Your Pan: Grease a 9x13 inch pan with butter or non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.

    Melt the Butter and Marshmallows: In a large saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the marshmallows to the pan. Stir continuously until the marshmallows are fully melted and smooth.

      Add Flavors: Once the marshmallow mixture is melted, remove it from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until evenly combined.

        Incorporate Rice Krispies: Gradually add the Rice Krispies cereal to the melted marshmallow mixture. Stir gently until all the cereal is fully coated and combined.

          Add Apples and Nuts: Fold in the diced apples and chopped nuts (if using) into the mixture, ensuring they are well distributed.

            Add Caramel Swirl: Drizzle 1/4 cup of the caramel sauce into the mixture. Gently fold the caramel into the mixture, creating a marbled effect. Be careful not to mix too much, as you want to keep some streaks of caramel.

              Transfer to Pan: Transfer the mixture to the greased 9x13 inch pan. Using a greased spatula or your hands lightly coated with butter, press the mixture evenly into the pan. Be sure not to pack it too tightly, as that can make the treats hard.
