Ingredients

1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

8 slices of cooked bacon, crumbled

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

½ tsp black pepper

¼ cup chopped green onions (optional)

Seasalt, to taste

Flour, for dusting

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet to smooth it out and increase its size slightly. Cut the pastry into 1-inch strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.

Make the Cheese Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and green onions (if using). Mix well until fully blended.

Assemble the Twists: Take 2 strips of the puff pastry and twist them together to form a spiral. Pinch the ends to seal. Use about 1 tablespoon of the cheese filling and place it in the center of the twist before placing it on the baking sheet. Repeat this step with the remaining strips and filling.

Brush with Egg Wash: Once all twists are formed and on the baking sheet, brush the tops with the beaten egg. This will give them a beautiful golden color as they bake.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the twists are puffed and golden brown.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes. Serve warm for the best cheesy pull!
