Ingredients

1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces

1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or homemade)

1/2 cup milk

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 cup crispy fried onions (plus extra for topping)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tbsp olive oil

Salt to taste

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Blanch Green Beans: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the trimmed green beans and blanch for about 4-5 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp. Drain and immediately transfer to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain again and set aside.

Prepare Sauce: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix until smooth.

Combine Ingredients: Add the blanched green beans, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, and 1 cup of crispy fried onions to the sauce. Stir until everything is well coated.

Bake Mixture: Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the top with remaining crispy fried onions and grated Parmesan cheese for an extra cheesy crunch.

Bake: Drizzle olive oil over the top of the casserole to enhance the flavor. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown on top.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let it sit for about 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious cheesy green bean casserole bake as a comforting side dish!
