Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup whole milk

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for melting)

1/2 cup powdered sugar (for coating)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a mini muffin tin or use parchment paper liners.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix together the milk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and well-mixed.

Combine Mixtures: Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; it’s okay if a few lumps remain.

Add Chocolate Chips: Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips into the batter.

Fill the Muffin Tin: Using a tablespoon or a small cookie scoop, fill each muffin cup about 2/3 full with the chocolate batter.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a doughnut hole comes out clean.

Cool Down: Allow the doughnut holes to cool in the tin for about 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare for Coating: Once cool, roll each doughnut hole in powdered sugar until evenly coated. For an extra chocolatey touch, you can also dip them in melted chocolate and let them set on parchment.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve your delicious chocolate doughnut holes slightly warm or at room temperature. They make perfect bite-sized treats for any occasion!
