Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

Make the Cake Batter: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract, and beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in the boiling water until well combined (the batter will be thin).

Bake the Cake: Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then flip them out onto wire racks to cool completely.

Prepare the Peanut Butter Frosting: In a large bowl, beat the peanut butter and softened butter together until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and heavy cream, and beat on medium speed until smooth and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Make the Chocolate Ganache: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the chocolate chips and heavy cream. Stir until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly, allowing it to thicken.

Assemble the Cake: Place one layer of cake on a serving plate and spread a generous layer of peanut butter frosting on top. Place the second layer of cake on top. Use the remaining frosting to cover the top and sides of the cake.

Drizzle with Ganache: Once the frosting is applied, pour the chocolate ganache over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides. You can use a spatula to spread it evenly.

Garnish: Sprinkle the top with chopped peanuts and chocolate shavings for an extra touch.

Serve and Enjoy: Slice the cake and serve. Enjoy the rich layers of chocolate and peanut butter bliss!
