Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine or pasta of your choice

2 cups fresh broccoli florets

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

1/4 teaspoon black pepper (freshly ground for best flavor)

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for a kick)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions for al dente. In the last 3-4 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets to the pot. Drain the pasta and broccoli, reserving about 1/2 cup of the pasta water.

Make the Sauce: In the same pot (reduce heat to medium), melt the unsalted butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.

Add Cream: Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Stir continuously for about 2-3 minutes until the cream has thickened slightly.

Cheese it Up: Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese to the sauce, stirring until it’s fully melted and incorporated, creating a smooth and creamy consistency.

Combine Everything: Add the drained pasta and broccoli to the sauce. Toss gently to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time to reach your desired sauce consistency.

Season: Stir in salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes if using. Taste and adjust seasoning as desired.

Serve: Plate the pasta in bowls, garnishing with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired. Enjoy your creamy delight!
