Ingredients

8 oz (225 g) penne pasta

2 cups broccoli florets

1 lb (450 g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced

1 tablespoon olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream

1 cup (100 g) grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Add the broccoli florets for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking. Drain and set aside.

Sauté the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced chicken and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. If desired, add red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.

Combine Everything: Return the cooked chicken and drained pasta to the skillet. Toss to combine all ingredients. Add the broccoli and mix gently until everything is well coated with the creamy sauce. Allow the skillet to simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes, letting all flavors meld together.

Serve: Remove from heat and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
