Creamy Pesto Chicken Lasagna

9 lasagna noodles

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded

1 cup pesto sauce (store-bought or homemade)

2 cups ricotta cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

2 cups heavy cream

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    Cook Lasagna Noodles: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

      Prepare Cream Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well combined.

        Layer Ingredients:

          - Spread a thin layer of pesto sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.

            - Place 3 lasagna noodles on top.

              - Spread half of the ricotta cheese over the noodles, followed by half of the shredded chicken, half of the cream mixture, and a third of the mozzarella cheese.

                - Repeat with another layer: pesto sauce, 3 lasagna noodles, remaining ricotta, remaining chicken, remaining cream, and another third of the mozzarella.

                  Final Layer: Place the last 3 lasagna noodles on top. Spread the remaining pesto sauce evenly over the noodles. Sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

                    Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil (to prevent sticking, spray the foil with cooking spray). Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

                      Rest: Once baked, remove the lasagna from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes to set before slicing.
