Ingredients

20 oz refrigerated cheese tortellini

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 medium onion, diced

1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon dried oregano

½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Tortellini: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the tortellini according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

Prepare the Sauce: Add the crushed tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Stir well and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Make it Creamy: Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream, mixing until well combined. Then, add the cooked tortellini to the skillet, gently folding to coat the pasta in the creamy tomato sauce.

Assemble the Bake: Transfer the tortellini mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the top.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving. Enjoy your creamy, cheesy goodness!
