Ingredients

1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

3 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a kick)

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This temperature ensures a crispy exterior while keeping the inside tender.

Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: Rinse the Brussels sprouts under cold water, then trim the stem ends and remove any wilted outer leaves. Cut them in half from top to bottom.

Season the Sprouts: In a large bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Ensure they are evenly coated.

Roast the Brussels Sprouts: Spread the seasoned Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Add Parmesan: After roasting the Brussels sprouts for about 20 minutes, remove them from the oven and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top. Return to the oven and continue roasting for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are golden brown and crispy.

Balsamic Drizzle: Once done, carefully remove them from the oven and immediately drizzle with balsamic vinegar for extra flavor.

Garnish and Serve: Transfer the Brussels sprouts to a serving platter and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve warm as an appetizer, side dish, or a delicious snack!
