Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)

1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix

1 packet (1 oz) au jus seasoning mix

1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)

6-8 pepperoncini peppers (whole)

1/4 cup chicken broth or water (optional, for moisture)

Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

Freshly cracked black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot, ensuring they are in a single layer for even cooking.

Season it Up: Sprinkle the ranch seasoning and au jus seasoning over the chicken evenly.

Add the Butter: Cut the stick of butter into slices and scatter the slices on top of the seasoned chicken. This will melt during cooking and make a flavorful sauce.

Pepperoncini Party: Add the whole pepperoncini peppers on top of the butter and chicken. You can adjust the number of peppers based on your spice preference. If you like it a little spicier, slice a few of them and add them to the mix.

Moisture Matters: If your chicken tends to dry out, you can add 1/4 cup of chicken broth or water to the bottom of the crockpot for extra moisture.

Cover and Cook: Place the lid on the crockpot, and set it to cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. The chicken should be cooked through and tender enough to shred with a fork.

Shred and Serve: Once cooked, use two forks to shred the chicken inside the crockpot. Stir it with the melted butter and seasonings to coat the shredded chicken evenly.

Garnish and Enjoy: Serve warm over rice, potatoes, or enjoy it in a sandwich. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and a sprinkle of cracked black pepper if desired.
