10 corn tortillas

1/3 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)

Zest of 1 lime

Juice of 1 lime

Optional: Fresh cilantro for garnish

Prep the Tortillas: Start by stacking the corn tortillas and cutting them into quarters to create triangle shapes. You should end up with about 40 tortilla wedges.

    Heat the Oil: In a large, deep skillet or a frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. You can tell the oil is ready when a small piece of tortilla bubbles and sizzles when added.

      Fry the Chips: Carefully add a handful of tortilla wedges to the hot oil, being cautious not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them in batches for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and crispy.

        Drain and Season: Using a slotted spoon, transfer the fried chips to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. While they are still hot, sprinkle them generously with the chili powder, garlic powder, paprika, and sea salt. Toss gently to ensure even coverage.
