Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon lemon zest

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 tablespoon fresh thyme)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Lemon slices (for garnish)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). This will ensure that your salmon bakes evenly and remains juicy.

Prepare the Baking Dish: Lightly grease a baking dish with cooking spray or a small amount of melted butter to prevent the salmon from sticking.

Make the Lemon Butter Sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Whisk everything together until well combined and creamy.

Arrange the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in the prepared baking dish, skin-side down. Pour the lemon butter sauce evenly over each fillet, ensuring they are well coated.

Add Lemon Slices: Layer lemon slices on top of each salmon fillet for added flavor and a beautiful presentation.

Bake the Salmon: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Garnish and Serve: Once cooked, remove the salmon from the oven and garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately, spooning some of the lemon butter from the bottom of the baking dish over each fillet.
