Ingredients

2 ripe bananas

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 tablespoon coconut oil (or vegetable oil)

Sea salt, for sprinkling

Optional toppings: crushed nuts (e.g., walnuts or almonds), shredded coconut, or sprinkles

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: Peel the ripe bananas and slice them into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Place the banana slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced out evenly.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Be careful not to overheat.

Dip the Banana Slices: Using a fork or a toothpick, dip each banana slice into the melted chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off. Return the coated banana slices to the parchment-lined baking sheet.

Add Toppings: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over each bite. If using optional toppings, now is the time to sprinkle crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or sprinkles over the chocolate-covered bananas.

Freeze: Carefully place the baking sheet in the freezer and freeze for at least 2-3 hours, or until the chocolate has completely hardened.

Serve: Once frozen solid, transfer the chocolate-dipped banana bites into an airtight container for storage. Enjoy them right out of the freezer, or let them sit for a few minutes before indulging for softer bites.
