12 oz linguine

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tbsp unsalted butter

2 tbsp olive oil

6 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust for spice preference)

1/2 cup dry white wine (such as Sauvignon Blanc)

Juice of 1 lemon

Zest of 1 lemon

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Cook Linguine: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest and set aside.

    Sauté Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of butter and the olive oil. Once the butter is melted and bubbling, add the shrimp in a single layer. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

      Make Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

        Deglaze with Wine: Pour in the white wine and lemon juice, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for about 3-4 minutes until slightly reduced.

          Combine Pasta and Shrimp: Reduce the heat to low and add the cooked linguine to the skillet along with the shrimp. Toss everything together to coat in the sauce. If the mixture seems dry, gradually add reserved pasta water until you reach the desired consistency. Stir in the lemon zest and adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.

            Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley. Serve immediately with a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese on top.
