Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups beef broth

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons water

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cubed

½ cup milk

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Potatoes:

    - In a large pot, place the cubed potatoes and cover them with cold water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium and simmer until the potatoes are tender (about 15-20 minutes).

      - Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and pepper. Mash until creamy and smooth. Set aside.

        Prepare the Beef Gravy:

          - In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent (about 3-4 minutes).

            - Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat if needed.

              Make the Gravy:

                - Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for 5 minutes.

                  - In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water until smooth. Slowly pour the cornstarch mixture into the gravy while stirring continuously. This will thicken the gravy. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

                    Serve:

                      - To plate, scoop a generous serving of mashed potatoes onto each plate. Top with the savory ground beef and gravy mixture.

                        - Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and added flavor.

                          Enjoy:

                            - Serve hot and enjoy the comforting combination of flavors!
