Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

4 medium-sized potatoes, diced into small cubes

1 large onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup beef broth

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup frozen peas (optional)

½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Potatoes: Begin by washing and peeling the potatoes. Cut them into small cubes to ensure they cook evenly. Rinse off any excess starch to help them crisp up better in the pan.

Cook the Fillings: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced potatoes and cook for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally until golden brown and slightly crispy. Remove them from the pan and set aside.

Brown the Beef: In the same skillet, add the chopped onions and garlic, cooking for 2-3 minutes until softened. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Use a spatula to break it apart, cooking until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.

Combine Ingredients: Once the beef is browned, drain excess fat if necessary, and stir in the Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Add Broth and Potatoes: Pour in the beef broth, and carefully add the cooked potatoes back into the skillet. Stir to combine, reducing heat to a low simmer. Let the mixture cook uncovered for 10-12 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the potatoes to absorb some of the broth.

Incorporate Peas & Cheese: If desired, mix in the frozen peas and sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the top. Cover the skillet for an additional 3-5 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt and the peas to heat through.

Garnish and Serve: Once everything is cooked, remove the skillet from heat. Finish with a sprinkle of fresh parsley for color and flavor. Serve hot and enjoy your hearty ground beef and potato skillet!
