Ingredients

1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for cooking)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a mixing bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ginger, cornstarch, and black pepper. Stir well until the cornstarch is fully dissolved. Add the steak cubes to the marinade and toss to ensure they are evenly coated. Let the steak marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours for more flavor).

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

Cook the Steak Bites: Remove the steak from the marinade, shaking off excess marinade. Carefully place the steak cubes in the hot skillet in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding the pan; you may need to do this in batches. Cook the steak bites for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are nicely browned and cooked to your desired doneness.

Glaze with Marinade: Once the steak bites are cooked, reduce the heat to medium and pour the leftover marinade into the pan. Let it simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the steak bites.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the pan from heat. Transfer the steak bites to a serving platter and sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve immediately, enjoying them as an appetizer or over rice for a heartier meal.
