Ingredients

1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, pressed and drained

3 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (for a vegan option)

2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)

2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

2 green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking spray or oil for the grill

Instructions

Prepare the Tofu: Start by pressing the tofu for at least 30 minutes to remove excess moisture. Wrap it in a clean kitchen towel or paper towels and place a heavy object on top.

Make the Marinade: In a mixing bowl, whisk together honey, Sriracha, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined.

Marinate the Tofu: Slice the pressed tofu into 1-inch thick slabs. Place the tofu in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring all pieces are well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours in the fridge for more flavor).

Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill (or grill pan) to medium-high heat. Lightly grease the grill grates with cooking spray or oil to prevent sticking.

Grill the Tofu: Remove the tofu from the marinade, reserving the marinade for basting. Place the tofu slabs on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, basting with the reserved marinade occasionally. Grill until golden brown and marked with grill lines.

Serve: Once the tofu is cooked, remove it from the grill and season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

Enjoy: Serve the Honey Sriracha Grilled Tofu hot, alongside steamed rice or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
