Ingredients

8 chicken drumsticks

1/2 cup pure maple syrup

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

Fresh rosemary or thyme for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare Marinade: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper until well combined.

Marinate the Drumsticks: Add the chicken drumsticks into the bowl with the marinade. Use tongs to coat them thoroughly. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours; for best results, marinate overnight.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare for Baking: Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup and place a wire rack on top. This will allow the chicken to cook evenly and become crispy.

Arrange Drumsticks: Remove the drumsticks from the marinade, shaking off any excess. Arrange them on the wire rack. Reserve the marinade for later.

Bake Chicken: Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes.

Glaze the Drumsticks: After 30 minutes, brush the reserved marinade over the drumsticks. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

Finish and Serve: If desired, broil the drumsticks for an additional 2-3 minutes for extra caramelization. Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh rosemary or thyme before serving.

Enjoy! Serve these delicious maple glazed chicken drumsticks with your choice of sides, such as roasted vegetables or a fresh salad.
