Ingredients

1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved

8 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini), halved if large

Fresh basil leaves

Balsamic glaze

Extra virgin olive oil

Sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper

12-15 wooden or metal skewers (about 6 inches long)

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients: Rinse the cherry tomatoes and fresh basil under cold water. Pat them dry with a paper towel. If the mozzarella balls are large, cut them in half.

Assemble the Skewers: Take a skewer and thread one half of a cherry tomato onto it. Follow with a basil leaf, then a mozzarella ball. Repeat the pattern, adding another cherry tomato and basil leaf, finishing with a mozzarella ball. Leave some space at the ends of the skewer for easy handling. Repeat for all skewers.

Season: Drizzle the assembled skewers with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze, making sure to coat them evenly. Sprinkle sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper over the top for added flavor.

Chill: Place the skewers on a platter and let them chill in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together.

Serve: Arrange the chilled skewers on a serving plate, and if desired, drizzle a bit more balsamic glaze over the top and garnish with additional basil leaves for presentation.
