Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 cup uncooked long-grain rice

2 cups beef broth

2 cups fresh broccoli florets

1 medium onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp salt

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)

2 tbsp olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Sauté the Beef: In a large skillet or pan over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.

Cook the Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until browned, approximately 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat if necessary.

Add Seasonings: Stir in the paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well to combine all the spices with the beef.

Incorporate Rice: Add the uncooked rice to the skillet, followed by the beef broth. Stir everything together, ensuring that the rice is submerged in the liquid.

Add Broccoli: Gently fold in the broccoli florets, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.

Simmer: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and allow it to simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.

Cheesy Finish: Once the rice is tender, sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Cover the pan again and let it sit for another 2-3 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve & Garnish: Remove from heat, fluff the rice gently with a fork, and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve warm and enjoy your hearty one-pan meal!
