Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1 medium onion, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece ginger, grated

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon chili sauce (adjust based on spice preference)

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooked jasmine rice or steamed rice (for serving)

Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes to enhance the flavors.

Prepare the Vegetables: While the steak is marinating, slice the red and green bell peppers and onion. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger, setting all aside for later use.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated steak in a single layer. Sear for about 2-3 minutes until browned (you may need to do this in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan). Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.

Cook the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Add the sliced onion, bell peppers, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes or until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Combine and Add Sauce: Return the steak to the pan. Drizzle the rice vinegar and chili sauce over everything, tossing to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and well-coated.

Serve: Remove from heat and serve the pepper steak over jasmine or steamed rice. Garnish with chopped green onions and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Enjoy your spicy Asian twist on a classic dish!
