Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup fresh basil pesto (store-bought or homemade)

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped (optional)

Additional pesto for drizzling (optional)

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, fresh basil pesto, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. If using, add the sun-dried tomatoes for an extra burst of flavor.

Form Meatballs: Mix all the ingredients until just combined; be careful not to overmix. Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter and place them onto the lined baking sheet.

Bake Meatballs: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and have a light golden color on the outside. An internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) is recommended.

Serve: Once the meatballs are done, remove them from the oven. You can drizzle a little extra pesto over the top for added flavor and garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.

Enjoy: Serve hot with pasta, over a salad, or as an appetizer with toothpicks!
