Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp chili powder

1 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/4 cup tomato sauce

1 tablespoon lime juice

8 large Romaine lettuce leaves (for wrapping)

1 cup diced tomatoes (fresh or canned)

1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)

1/2 avocado, sliced

Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Salsa or hot sauce, for serving (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Turkey: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Season the Meat: Add the ground turkey to the skillet. Use a spatula to break it apart as it cooks. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook until the turkey is fully browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.

Add Sauce: Pour in the tomato sauce and lime juice, stirring to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer for another 2-3 minutes, letting the flavors meld together.

Prepare Lettuce Wraps: While the turkey mixture simmers, rinse the Romaine lettuce leaves under cold water, then gently pat them dry with a towel.

Assemble the Wraps: Spoon a generous amount of the turkey mixture into each lettuce leaf. Top with diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, avocado slices, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro.

Serve: Drizzle with your choice of salsa or hot sauce if desired and enjoy your quick and easy turkey taco lettuce wraps!
