  • 0.0 teaspoon salt

  • 2.0 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3.0 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3.0 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1.0 unit lemon zest
  • 1.0 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2.0 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1.0 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 0.0 unit lemon slices, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Scallops: Season the scallops with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Heat the Skillet: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Sear the Scallops: Carefully add the scallops to the skillet in a single layer without overcrowding. Sear them for about 2.0-3.0 minutes on each side, or until they form a golden crust and are opaque in the center. Remove the scallops from the skillet and set aside.
  • Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter and allow it to melt. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 0.5 minutes, until fragrant. Be careful not to brown the garlic.
  • Add Lemon and Herbs: Stir in the lemon zest, lemon juice, parsley, and thyme. Let it simmer for about 1.0 minute to blend the flavors.
  • Combine: Return the scallops to the skillet and gently toss them in the lemon herb sauce for another minute to coat.
