The foundation of any great stir-fry lies in the aromatics, particularly garlic and ginger. Both ingredients provide a depth of flavor and aroma that elevates the overall dish. To maximize their impact, finely mince garlic and ginger to release their essential oils. When sautéing, start with a cold pan to allow the flavors to infuse into the oil gradually.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 bell pepper (red or yellow), sliced

1 medium zucchini, sliced

1 cup broccoli florets

1 cup snap peas

2 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece ginger, grated

1 carrot, julienned

½ cup teriyaki sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

2 green onions, chopped

Salt and pepper, to taste

Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Instructions

Prep the Ingredients: Start by washing and slicing all the vegetables. Make sure to cut them uniformly for even cooking.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

Sauté the Aromatics: Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the hot oil. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, taking care not to burn them.

Cook the Vegetables: Add the bell pepper, zucchini, broccoli, snap peas, and carrot into the skillet. Stir-fry the vegetables for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are tender-crisp. Keep them moving to prevent sticking.

Add the Teriyaki Sauce: Once the veggies are cooked, pour in the teriyaki sauce. Toss everything together to ensure the vegetables are evenly coated. Allow the mixture to cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until heated through.

Season and Garnish: Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed. Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top for garnish.

Serve: Remove from heat and serve the stir-fry over a bed of warm cooked rice or noodles, ensuring a delightful blend of flavors in every bite.
