Ingredients

1 pound ground breakfast sausage (mild or spicy, based on preference)

1 package (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese of your choice)

1/4 cup finely chopped green onions (scallions)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 egg (for egg wash)

Optional: hot sauce or mustard for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Cook the Sausage: In a medium skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook the ground breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally to break up the meat. Drain excess grease.

Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Prepare Crescent Rolls: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. Separate it into triangles as indicated on the packaging.

Fill the Rolls: Place a tablespoon of the sausage mixture at the wider end of each crescent triangle. Carefully roll the dough over the filling, starting from the wide end and rolling towards the point. Pinch the edges to seal the filling inside.

Egg Wash: In a small bowl, beat the egg to create an egg wash. Brush the tops of the rolled crescent sausages with the egg wash for a golden finish.

Bake: Place the filled crescent rolls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes. Serve warm with optional hot sauce or mustard on the side for dipping.
