Ingredients

2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup maple syrup (or honey)

1/4 cup almond milk (or any milk of choice)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

A pinch of salt

Optional toppings: whipped coconut cream, fresh berries, or shaved dark chocolate

Instructions

Prepare the Avocados: In a blender or food processor, add the ripe avocados. Blend until completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.

Add Cocoa and Sweetener: Add the unsweetened cocoa powder and maple syrup to the blended avocados. Blend again until well incorporated. The mixture should be thick and rich.

Incorporate Milk and Flavorings: Pour in the almond milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Blend until the mousse is light and fluffy, achieving a silky texture. Adjust sweetness if needed by adding a little more maple syrup.

Taste and Adjust: Taste the mousse and adjust the flavor as desired – this could mean adding a bit more cocoa for richness or more maple syrup for sweetness.

Chill the Mousse: Transfer the mousse into small serving bowls or jars. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the texture to set.

Serve: Before serving, top with your choice of whipped coconut cream, fresh berries, or shavings of dark chocolate for an extra touch of elegance.
