Ingredients

1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

6 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped

1/4 cup pure maple syrup

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1/4 cup pecans, chopped (optional)

Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare Brussels Sprouts: In a large bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with the olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss to ensure all sprouts are evenly coated.

Cook Bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until it’s crispy. Remove the bacon pieces and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Reserve about 2 tablespoons of bacon drippings in the skillet.

Combine Ingredients: Add the coated Brussels sprouts to the skillet with the reserved bacon drippings. Stir in the cooked bacon and maple syrup, mixing everything together until well combined.

Roasting Time: Spread the Brussels sprouts mixture evenly on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Roast in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the sprouts are caramelized and tender, tossing halfway through for even cooking.

Add Pecans: If using pecans, sprinkle them over the Brussels sprouts during the last 5 minutes of roasting to toast them lightly.

Garnish and Serve: Once done, remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve hot as a delicious side dish or appetizer.
