Before you dive into assembling your Sticky Garlic Teriyaki Meatball Bowls, it’s crucial to preheat your oven. Preheating ensures that the meatballs cook evenly, preventing any rubbery or undercooked centers. Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and give it about 10-15 minutes to reach the desired temperature. This step might seem simple, but it plays a significant role in achieving the perfect texture and flavor for your meatballs. An adequately preheated oven also helps in caramelizing the meatballs, enhancing their overall taste.

Instructions

Prepare the Meatballs:

    - In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped green onions, minced garlic, beaten egg, soy sauce, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

      - Gently mix until all ingredients are well combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatballs tough.

        Form Meatballs:

          - Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs approximately 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place the formed meatballs on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

            Bake the Meatballs:

              - Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for about 20 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F/75°C).

Make the Sticky Garlic Teriyaki Sauce:

                  - In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Bring to a simmer while stirring until the sugar is dissolved.

                    - Once simmering, add the cornstarch slurry to the sauce and continue to stir until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.

                      Coat the Meatballs:

                        - Once the meatballs are done baking, toss them in the sticky garlic teriyaki sauce until they are well coated.

                          Assemble the Bowls:

                            - In a serving bowl, place a generous scoop of cooked jasmine rice as the base. Top with the sticky garlic teriyaki meatballs and steamed broccoli. Drizzle remaining teriyaki sauce over the top.

                              Garnish:

                                - Finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and sliced green onions for added flavor and presentation.
