Ingredients

For the Meatballs:

1 lb (450g) ground beef or ground turkey

½ cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

For the Sauce:

½ cup honey

¼ cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 teaspoon cornstarch, mixed with 1 tablespoon cold water (to thicken)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Meatball Mixture:

    - In a large bowl, combine ground beef (or turkey), breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, ensuring not to overmix.

      Form the Meatballs:

        - Using your hands, roll the mixture into bite-sized meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

          Cook the Meatballs:

            - Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for about 20 minutes or until they are browned and cooked through. Alternatively, you can pan-fry them for a crispy exterior in a large skillet over medium heat.

              Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:

                - In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir well and bring to a simmer.

                  - Once simmering, add the cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce, stirring continuously until it bubbles and thickens slightly (about 2-3 minutes).

                    Coat the Meatballs:

                      - Once the meatballs are cooked, transfer them to a large mixing bowl or the saucepan with the honey garlic sauce. Gently toss to coat the meatballs thoroughly in the sauce.

                        Serve:

                          - Transfer your sticky meatballs to a serving dish, garnish with fresh parsley and sesame seeds, and serve warm. They can be enjoyed as an appetizer, over rice, or tossed into a salad for a delightful meal!
